Did you order a lab for a patient but didn’t receive the results in your inbox? There could be a few reasons behind why this may be happening:
1. The Mailing Address is Incorrect
Two pieces of information are required to have eLabs routed to your at a specific clinic location; the ordering provider's name and the clinic’s mailing address. If the mailing address does not match the clinic’s, labs will be routed to the wrong address.
To check if this is the case for your lab, you can search the lab on OLIS and double-check that the address input for the lab is correct.

To fix this, reach out to the lab company to update the clinic’s address to the location you would like the lab results to be sent.
2. Public Health Labs are Delivered by Fax
If the lab you have requested is a public health lab, it will be delivered by fax to your clinic and therefore will not be found in your inbox. All public health labs are delivered by fax only. These labs can be processed in your fax inbox, forwarded into the EMR and will appear under the documents section of the patient’s eChart.
