Inserting a Template into your note
When writing encounter notes, you can quickly insert templates of text that you commonly use by typing @ followed by the template name (e.g. @DM) in your note.
You can also search for a template in the "Search Template" box in your encounter bar.
To quickly complete a template after selecting it, you can press the tab key, which will move your cursor to all placeholders (•) and option fields ( [Option 1| Option2] ).
Tabbing through an option field will select the first option. To select other options, click on them with your mouse.
Creating a New Template
To create a new template click on the Template drop down in the top right of your eChart toolbar, then select New/Edit Template
Here you can type a new template's name, like "Smoking Cessation" and if it does not already exist, click the "Create Template" button
In the "Create Template" view, you can name your template and enter your preferred template text.
You can also add placeholders (•), option fields ( [Option 1| Option2] ), and measurements which will pre-populate when you load the template.
