When documents and labs are uploaded to Avaros, they are matched to a patient by last name, gender, date of birth, and health card number (if present). If any of these values do not match an existing patient, the Lab or Document will appear in your inbox as 'Unmatched' signified by being highlighted in yellow.
Two types of unmatched items may appear in your inbox are:
1) Unmatched lab results
2) Unmatched documents
1) Unmatched Lab Results
If the unmatched item in your inbox is a lab result, when you click to open it a 'Patient Matching' window will pop-up where you can search for a patient in your EMR to match the Lab Result. Once you've searched and found the patient you would like to match the lab result to, click on their demographic number to select them.
💡If the search does not return a suitable match, you can re-try it using a date of birth, address, or health card number.💡
2) Unmatched Documents
If the unmatched item in your inbox is a document, once you click on it you will open the preview of the document. In the left panel, you can search for a demographic and link it to the document by clicking 'Match Demographic'.
After entering the information above, click 'Save' to save the match.
