Knowing what is included in a CDS migration is great in understanding how your data will look once you have migrated to Avaros. This article goes through what to expect in your CDS migration.
What is a CDS Migration?
CDS is a data transfer standard created by OntarioMD for the quick transfer of patient records from one EMR system to another. You can find the exact details of what is included in a CDS migration by referencing OntarioMD's EMR Data Migration Implementation Guide.
What IS Included in a CDS Migration
1. Medications
2. Allergies
3. Lab Results
4. Encounter Notes
5. Preventions*
6. Documents
7. HRM items
8. Measurements**
9. Appointments
*Only injection preventions are included (ie: Flu, Covid Vaccine, Tdap etc.) Non-injection preventions (PAP, Colonoscopy, MAM, FIT, Gastroscopy) are not included in this standard. These extra preventions can be requested from your EMR to be included in your migration, however, there may be an extra cost associated with this addition.
**Please check Data Migration Implementation Guide to see exactly which measurements are included in a CDS migration. BMI and Heart Rate values are not included.
What IS NOT Included in a CDS Migration
1. eForms (ex: Rourkes and other Requisitions)
2. Billing
3. Any internal clinic messages
4. Consultations
5. Address book*
*We can upload an address book sent to us in Excel or CSV format to your clinic. These reports should be available to extract from your EMR. Please note that pharmacy and specialist address books must be done separately.
