These notes start with the changes coming in the next Avaros EMR update. Then they cover the updates released between September 27 and October 20, 2026, across the EMR and its schedule, fax and online booking apps. Each update is listed newest first, with what changed for your clinic in everyday terms. Behind-the-scenes changes that you won't notice day to day are left out. Your clinic gets each update automatically, so you don't need to do anything unless a note says otherwise.
Coming soon (version 1.7.48)
These changes are ready for the next update. A release date isn't set yet, and details may still change.
For doctors
- Faster prescribing. Prescription windows open without the delay some of you have seen.
- Consultations with locked PDFs print and fax. Attachments that used to stop the print with an error now go through.
- Complete lab printouts. Lab reports print and fax with their scanned pages, from anywhere in the chart.
- Every signature is kept. eForms with more than one signature now save all of them.
- Your signature is picked for you. When you sign an eForm, your usual signature is selected automatically.
- Up-to-date meningococcal reminders. Prevention alerts follow Ontario's 2026 immunization schedule.
For administrators
- The right specialist on fax cover pages. Redirected consultations show the new specialist on the cover page.
- Clear errors for wrong fax numbers. Faxing an eForm to an invalid number now says so.
- Faster patient search on the schedule. Searching by number no longer hangs. Phone and health card searches will need at least 5 digits.
- Correct city in address lookup. For example, Haileybury instead of Temiskaming Shores.
- Cleaner caseload lists. Merged duplicate charts no longer appear.
- No duplicate messages. A message reaches each inbox once.
- Choose which eForms to print. Chart printing can include just old-style or just new-style eForms.
- Better audit records. Patients added through online booking are recorded in the audit log.
- Faster CDS imports. One bad record no longer stops the whole import.
For everyone
- Faster page loads and security updates throughout the EMR.
October 20, 2026 (schedule and fax update)
This update keeps the schedule where you left it and makes it work on phones and tablets.
For administrators
- Refresh keeps your place. The schedule stays on the date, view and schedule you were on. Staff who used F5 to get back to today should press R instead.
- New R shortcut. Press R to jump to today on your default schedule. The Today button's tooltip shows it.
- Compact view for large groups. See up to 9 providers at once.
- Alerts stay visible when booking. Patient alerts and the health card panel no longer disappear after you pick a patient.
- Faster patient search on the schedule. Results appear quickly, and the full record loads only for the patient you pick.
- Schedules a month out show their appointments.
- Manage Providers is sorted by last name.
- Appointment history shows modality changes. You can see when an appointment moved between in-person, phone and video.
- Easier patient creation from the fax inbox. Create Demographic fills in from your search and supports keyboard shortcuts, health card auto-fill and address suggestions.
For everyone
- The schedule works on phones and tablets, and better in Safari, Edge and Firefox. Laptops keep the full menu.
- A faster schedule for large clinics.
- Privacy mode PIN entry happens right on the switch.
