How to bill out of province patients in Avaros?
To bill an out-of-province patient in Avaros, begin by opening the patient’s Master Record. In the patient's 'Demographic' section, set their 'Health Card Type' to their home province.
Once the health card type is set, the system will automatically flag the invoice as out-of-province billing (Reciprocal Medical Billing) when you create it.
These invoices can be generated using the same workflow as OHIP invoices by selecting 'Bill OHIP' as the billing type.
The flagged invoices will then be submitted to OHIP for processing and paid out accordingly.
The submission and reconciliation process remains the same as it would for a regular OHIP claim.
