Reciprocal Medical Billing (RMB) allows healthcare providers to bill for services given to patients from other Canadian provinces (except Quebec) ensuring patients receive care and providers get reimbursed by the patient's home province.
How to bill out of province patients in Avaros?
Once the health card type is set, the system will automatically flag the invoice as out-of-province billing (Reciprocal Medical Billing) when you create it.
These invoices can be generated using the same workflow as OHIP invoices by selecting 'Bill OHIP' as the billing type.
The flagged invoices will then be submitted to OHIP for processing and paid out accordingly.
The submission and reconciliation process remains the same as it would for a regular OHIP claim.
