Reciprocal Medical Billing (RMB) allows healthcare providers to bill for services given to patients from other Canadian provinces (except Quebec) ensuring patients receive care and providers get reimbursed by the patient's home province.
How to bill out of province patients in Avaros?
Once the health card type is set, the system will automatically flag the invoice as out-of-province billing (Reciprocal Medical Billing) when you create it. This flagged invoice is then sent to OHIP for processing and will be paid out accordingly.
The submission and reconciliation process remains the same as it would for a regular OHIP claim.
